“Benzo Fury” — 6-(2-aminopropyl)benzofuran (6-APB)
Based on other similar amphetamines, 6-APB probably causes release of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. It acts as an agonist of the 5-HT2C receptor, and possibly as an agonist of the 5-HT2A and 5-HT2B receptors, explaining its reported psychadelic effects. Upon overdose 6-APB has been widely reported to cause serotonin syndrome.
